How do you play this course? Here is a hole by hole recommendation by the Golf Professional....

A great hole to get your game started! Don't let your ball take a drink off the tee in the Trout River and don't go left here. Trees all the way down the left side! Nice big green to hit into with two bunkers guarding the left side. If you have to miss your drive, miss right!
#2
Enjoy the wide open spaces! Avoid the bunker on the left and its an easy par.
#3
The first of 5 par 3's, you do not want to miss this one right or left. Miss it right, tough chip, Miss it left, trees. Avoid the bunker on the left side. You should be able to get out of here with a 4!
#4
Take your driver and hit a nice, long drive down the middle then take a sharp left. If you are not long off the tee, be sure to position yourself towards the right side of the fairway to have a shot. Mostly wide open for your second and third shots. The snack shop is off to your right, so grab a drink if you need.
#5
What you see is what you get here! Avoid the bunker on the left and this should be an easy par 3 as long as you can pop a ball off the tee either 213 or 173 and straight as an arrow!
#6
A long par 4 with bunkers guarding the right side of the fairway. Try to hit down the middle or slightly left to avoid them. Second shot is to a small, elevated green, much like you've experienced already. Good luck here!
#7
Take a breather...this is not a real difficult par 5. Most of you can hit a drive to the corner and possibly get your second shot on the green. Watch out though, the green is guarded by bunkers on both the right and left and make sure you do not hit above the hole. The green has a lot of undulation!
#8
Finish this par 3 and grab a dog at the stand! This is a short par 3 with a bunker left & right. Shouldn't be much more than a 6 or 7 iron, depending on the wind
#9
The home stretch for the front! Requires a nice drive and an even nicer second shot to hit the green in two. Once again, two bunkers gaurd this green. Keep it right! Trees line the left side all the way!
#10
This hole will make you feel like the Golf Gods are smiling. Short par 4 and really no trouble. Have fun with this one because the narrow fairways and trees are coming! Remember, if you start to get into trouble, enjoy the scenery...at least your in the Northwoods!

Ok..here's a par 5 that most of the fairway slopes to the right. Trees all the way down the left side and huge pines on your right. Try to hit a drive down the middle to left side of the fairway. Second shot, take an iron..The green is small so to hit that on your second shot is near impossible.
#12
I think this is one of the toughest par 3's at Trout Lake. Its only about 155 yards long, however, your hitting into a small elevated green, guarded by two bunkers. You must hit the green or your most likely in trouble. Feel good with a par here!
#13
Entering the "Devils Elbow" Trees line both sides of this narrow fairway. Slight dogleg right, your going to want to hit a 3 wood or possibly an iron off this tee for position. Second shot is downhill to a small green. Only large bunker on the right and one small bunker on the left. You should make par here by playing it smart
#14
Short par 4, however, its got a big dog leg to the left. Your smartest shot off the tee here is to take an iron and play for position, because your next shot shouldn't be more that 110 yards to the green. There are two bunkers that guard the right side of the fairway. You big hitters...you can try to drive this green if you know which tree to hit it over because your not going to be able to see it land.

This hole looks like it should treat you nice but it doesn't. Big bunker on the right and left side of the green, winds off the lake and no where to go but down behind the green make for a challenging par 3. If you miss it here, miss it short!
#16
Take a deep breath. You've just completed the "Devils Elbow" I told you to be ready. Now we've got a par 5 that is possible to reach in two. The problem is that you have a bunker that catches most of the big hitters! Take your second shot and play smart. A simple chip and a 2 putt get you out of here with your par
#17
So you thought it was almost over? This is a very long par 4, usually into the wind. It even takes the big hitters a driver and a 3 wood to reach it in two. Be happy with a bogey here. Your going to want confidence for 18!

The clubhouse is in sight...just don't hit it off the tee! Remember the first hole, we warned you about letting your ball take a drink in the Trout River. Well, here we are again. OK big hitters, you can definitely reach this green off the tee. Go for it! People will be watching from the porch!
